DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Leury Garcia drove in two runs as the White Sox tamed the Tigers 4-1 in Detroit. Carlos Rodon gave up just one run over seven innings and struck out nine. Eric Haase broke up Rodon’s no-hit bid with a one-out double in the seventh inning.
Liam Hendriks picked up the save for Chicago, which has won four straight. Niko Goodrum drove in the lone run for the Tigers. Tyler Alexander took the loss in relief for Detroit, which was swept in the series.
The Tigers open up a seven-game road trip tonight in Kansas City with the first of three against the Royals. Detroit will then visit Anaheim for a four-game series versus the Angels starting Thursday. The Tigers enter the trek tied for last in the AL Central at 26-39.
