THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Although no severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings were issued, some strong weekend storms left damage in parts of southwest Michigan. An area especially hit hard Saturday was Three Rivers and other parts of St. Joseph County.
Several homes near Fisher Lake were damaged, with a few reported to be total losses. There were also reports of numerous uprooted trees and overturned boats in the lake. Residents, who spent much of Sunday working on the cleanup, say when the worst of the storm lasted about ten minutes and that the winds sounded like a freight train.
The National Weather Service has not confirmed any investigations at that location at this time.
