State looks for 1000 applicants for scholarships to help them earn skills certificates

LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Labor and Employment Opportunity has announced they are seeking a new wave of applicants to the Michigan Skills Scholarship program.

The scholarships are being awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to the first 1000 applicants who meet the eligibility standards and enroll at an eligible training provider.

The program provides up to $1500 to those who wish to earn a skills certificate in areas such as IT, construction, business management, and more.
