HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The San Diego-based biotech company Progenity is cutting 110 jobs in Ann Arbor on Aug. 6, 2021.
This is yet another wave of layoffs the company has announced since losing a $49 million federal case last year.
That suit included evidence the company overbilled federal healthcare programs such as Medicaid and TriCare Network Providers, which serves active-duty military, military retirees, and their families, for as much as 49-million dollars, for prenatal tests and providing kickbacks to doctors who ordered Progenity tests over other tests for their patients.
Shareholders are also suing Progenity.
