KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Waldo Stadium at Western Michigan University (WMU) is set to reopen at full capacity this fall, according to an announcement from WMU Athletics Monday.
Officials say the decision was made after reviewing the latest COVID-19 guidance from WMU, Kalamazoo County and the State of Michigan.
Bronco Football is currently set to open its 2021 season at the University of Michigan on Saturday, September 4.
The home-opener is set for Saturday, September 11, versus Illinois State. Kickoff against the Redbirds is set for 5 p.m., and the contest can be seen on ESPN3.
With participant and fan safety at the forefront, the athletics department says it will continue to operate under all policies established by the University, as well as state and local authorities.
