GALESBURG, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE: The man charged in the recent murder of a Galesburg couple says that he did it because the couple was being loud and he couldn’t sleep, according to a new report by WWMT Monday.
31-year-old Robert William Wolfe has already been arraigned on two counts of open murder and two counts of felony firearm in the deaths of 49-year-old Virgil Walker and 30-year-old Hailey Walker.
He was charged on Friday, and the incident is said to have occurred on June 3 at Galesburg Village Apartments.
Court documents state he shot the couple with a 9mm handgun, and later called 911 to report himself to authorities.
Documents further state he told police that he couldn’t sleep due to the couple being loud. At this time, it is believed mental health issues may have been a factor in the shooting.
Wolfe is currently being held without bond, and his next appearance in court will be on June 17.
