KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo has issued a boil water advisory until Monday, June 7th for residents living near Portage Street.
Affected areas include:
Portage Street – From Lake Street (southern boundary) to Vine Street (northern boundary), both sides of the street. Does not include the northwest corner of Lake Street and Portage Street.
Carr Street – From the west end (western boundary) to Portage Street (eastern boundary), both sides of the road.
Newland Place – From the south end (southern boundary) to Carr Street (northern boundary), both sides of the street.
Jackson Court – from the west end (western boundary) to Portage Street (eastern boundary), both sides of the street.
Health officials say those in the affected area should use bottled water for consumptive purposes or boil their tap water for 2 minutes prior to use for drinking or other ingestion. No special precautionary measures are necessary for water used for personal hygiene.
