Today we have a look at how another way of marketing livestock is changing. Video and live-streaming livestock auctions had their start before the pandemic, but the past 12 months have seen this approach to selling animals become more commonplace.
Recently more companies have started accepting on-line or phone bids to give buyers a virtual way to participate. A spokesperson for the Livestock Marketing Association says the practice is likely to continue post-pandemic. One approach could involve making a video of a large number of calves on a ranch then having them sold on-line or via a video sale.
Nevertheless LMA says livestock auctions at the barn will continue and they’ll draw their ‘regulars’ in the coming days of lessening restrictions.
