KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A groundbreaking is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon on Kalamazoo County’s new $97 million Justice Center.
County Administrator Tracee Moored says the $75 million loans they have taken out to build the structure have not hurt their credit rating, which means a lower interest rate.
“As far as our debt service payment, it will make a huge positive for the commitment that we have to make with our revenue sharing.”
The County is selling bonds to cover 66% of the cost of construction. The groundbreaking is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the site next to the County Administration Building on Kalamazoo Avenue.
