KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo police say they have a suspect in custody connected to a shooting that happened in late April. Investigations led them to determine 20-year-old Dondrell Servant of Oshtemo Township was involved and he has been arrested in connection to the crime.
In the early morning of April 29, officers responded to the 1300 block of N. Rose St. where a 17-year-old victim was suffering from several gunshot wounds. The teen was taken to the hospital that night and although he is expected to survive, he has suffered severe trauma. Servant was arrested on Tuesday.
Shortly after the arrest, Kalamazoo detectives executed two search warrants at separate apartment complexes in relation to the incident but did not indicate what they may have found.
Servant faces charges for Assault with Intent to Murder, Felony Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
