WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One of two suspects accused of being involved in sex trafficking for at least five years in Allegan County will be headed to trial.
The suspects, Robert Grigsby and Vanessa Phillips of Wayland are accused of operating the ring which involved at least fifty victims.
The charges stem from a two-year investigation that uncovered over 6,000 online ads linked to prostitution. Phillips was in court Tuesday, where police testified on how some victims were paid.
Some people who testified alleged Phillips may have been a victim herself of Grigsby, and not one of the ringleaders. Grigsby’s probable cause hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
