KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — As the majority of seniors in Michigan have now received COVID-19 vaccines, there are some things they can now resume doing but also things they still should still avoid too.
The CDC says inoculated citizens are safe to visit others who have also received vaccines, without wearing masks. They also should feel safe visiting family members who are not symptomatic. Kalamazoo County Health Director Jim Rutherford says until we have herd immunity though, public precautions remain necessary. He says even though protocols have been an inconvenience, it’s still not safe to abandon them entirely.
Travel and large gatherings should still be avoided, but anyone who has put off dental or other medical care should feel more comfortable to make appointments now. He says hang on to the card issued at vaccine centers as proof you might need for any services or events you plan to attend that may require it.
