In the past year agriculture has been the recipient of massive COVID relief.
Yet, there remain some specific sectors that still require assistance. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack tells farm broadcasters this week the new Pandemic Assistance for Producers initiative is designed to reach all levels of agriculture. He says there are some segments of the industry which haven’t been helped much or at all by existing COVID relief packages. Examples given include timber harvesters, the biofuel industry and the seafood industry.
In addition, Vilsack promises a strong outreach to small and minority farmers regarding the CFAP-2 program and the new 60 day signup period for it. Signup starts April 5th.
