COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Students and staff at Comstock High School say they are still in shock over the news of the death of the school’s band director.
WWMT reports that a candlelight vigil was held for Jason Fritz Wednesday evening. He died on Tuesday after serious injuries he sustained during a motorcycle crash.
Comstock Public Schools Superintendent Jeff Thoenes said the entire school district was grieving. Fritz was the band director in the school district for the past three years but quickly became beloved after arriving there.
The school district says that they have had counselors on hand to work with students and help them cope with the loss.
