PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An investigation into drug activity at an apartment in Van Buren County resulted in several arrests Tuesday evening, and a young child was removed from the residence.
Sheriff Daniel Abbott says they received an anonymous tip about an apartment in the 45000 block of Marie Drive in Paw Paw. During surveillance in the area, several vehicles were observed coming and going. Authorities made three traffic stops and discovered various drugs during searches, with the help of a Van Buren County K-9. The drugs included meth, heroin, and Xanax. Three people were arrested altogether.
Then after a search warrant was executed at the apartment, deputies located the 36-year-old suspected drug dealer, along with his 9-year-old daughter and another adult male. A large amount of meth was also found along with packaging material. Child Protective Services was called to remove the child.
Altogether, six people are expected to face drug charges related to the case. They include:
- A 36-year-old male from Paw Paw
- A 35-year-old male from Lawton
- A 36-year-old male from Kalamazoo
- A 43-year-old female from Gobles
- A 40-year-old female from Paw Paw
- A 35-year-old male from Lawton
