BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A man who is facing murder and child abuse charges in connection with last November’s death of 18-month-old Drequan Scott will stand trial.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the case against Henry Lewis Jones Jr. has been bound over to Circuit Court after he waived his District Court preliminary exam which was scheduled for this past Monday.
Jones is being held without bond in the Calhoun County Jail.
Jones was the last known adult to see the youngster alive. The child’s mother was at work at the time.
Police said Jones took the boy to a relative’s home, and requested they call 911. Jones then left the relative’s home. He was arrested over a month after the child’s death.
