LANSING, MI — Lansing Mayor Andy Schor has proposed his budget plan for 2022. The $237,137,144 figure is a 1.2% increase from last year’s budget, according to a report from media partner WLNS Six News in Lansing.
Almost $17 million is proposed for roads and sidewalks, which includes repairs of local streets and bridges, while Schor proposes $26.5 million for the Lansing Police Department. Part of that money will go toward hiring another social worker, according to the TV6 report.
Mayor Schor said the Lansing City Council will discuss the budget proposal over the next few months before making a final decision on next year’s spending in May.
