LANSING, MI — As part of Michigan Severe Weather Awareness Week, a statewide tornado drill is planned tomorrow. The Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division is encouraging people to take part at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Ingham, Eaton, Jackson and Clinton counties are participating.
People will hear or observe alerts on NOAA Weather Radios, TVs and radio stations across the state. Sirens will be heard throughout various communities across mid-Michigan.
Local emergency management officials say its important to to develop a safety plan for your family in case severe weather warnings are issued and dangerous weather occurs.
