KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo’s unofficial holiday to celebrate the upcoming summer season takes place today.
Bell’s Brewery will officially release its famous seasonal favorite Oberon beer on Monday. But customers may have started seeing the beer on store shelves earlier this weekend, just like last year. In 2020, Oberon Day events were canceled due to the pandemic, so the beer was released a little earlier than usual.
This year, events will be limited too, but not as much. Bell’s will host a celebration of Oberon’s release at its Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday with limited seating capacity.
A virtual event broadcasted live from Bell’s was also held for those who wanted to participate from home.
Oberon will be distributed across the United States through the end of September.
