A coalition of Michigan agriculture leaders are telling Congress and the Biden administration to strive for bipartisan action on things like rural roads, bridges, rail, waterways and broadband.
The president of the Michigan Agri-Business Association, Chuck Lippstreu, says rural areas in the state are in a full-blown infrastructure crisis whose needs go well beyond road repairs. After approval of the American Rescue Plan, its supporters in Washington are reported to be focusing on infrastructure. GreenStone Farm Credit CEO Dave Armstrong added, ‘it’s important agriculture have access to modern infrastructure at all points on the supply chain.’
The Michigan group detailed their concerns in a letter to lawmakers and the administration last week.
