BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Fire crews in Battle Creek responded to a house fire Thursday afternoon that appeared to be caused when a power line was knocked off of a utility pole during high winds.
At around 2:45 p.m., firefighters were called to a home at 66 Massachusetts Ave. where they observed flames coming from the eaves of the attic. They were able to get the fire under control and contain it to the back of the structure and the roof.
The residents who live there are displaced due to the fire along with the power outage caused by the detatched line. The American Red Cross was called to assist them. No injuries were reported.
