WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (WKZO AM/FM) – East Region number one seed University of Michigan begins their run in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Saturday.
U of M will tip off against 16 seed Texas Southern after they beat fellow 16 seed Mount St. Mary’s 60-52 in yesterday’s First Four game. The game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EDT.
The Wolverines won the Big Ten regular season title and are 20-and-4. The Tigers are the Southwestern Athletic Conference champions and are 17-and-8.
In other First Four games Thursday, Drake nipped Wichita State 53-52, Norfolk State ousted Appalachian State 54-53, and UCLA beat Michigan State 86-80 in OT.
