KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — For the first time in over two months, Michigan reported over 3,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day, and Kalamazoo is also seeing cases on the rise in recent days.
The average daily case rate has increased 155% during the last 30 days and puts Michigan with 11 other states in the U.S. showing spikes in COVID-19 cases. And the data released Wednesday also shows that the Kalamazoo region currently has the highest rate of positive tests for the virus over the last seven days.
But there were no deaths in Michigan from COVID-19 in Wednesday’s report. It’s the first time in exactly a year that the state reported has reported zero deaths in their daily update.
