BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two people from the Detroit area, who were in Battle Creek to attend a funeral over the weekend, say they were assaulted by a man with a gun outside the church after the services.
The alleged male and female victims called Battle Creek police just after noon Sunday from the parking lot of a church in the 300 block of Main Street. They said a man approached them who they didn’t know and told them that they weren’t supposed to be there.
The woman said she had spoken at the funeral for her friend and the suspect then struck her in the head with the gun. He then pointed the gun at the male victim and threatened to shoot him before running into the street and taking off in a vehicle with an unknown female.
Police have not been able to identify the suspect.
