LANSING, MI — The General Motors Grand River Assembly plant in Lansing is closed starting today due to a microchip shortage. The automaker says the factory will be shut down until April.
GM says hourly workers will still be paid through the provisions of their labor agreement. Seniority employees will get 75-percent of their compensation, according to GM.
The shutdown at LGR does not affect car production at GM’s Delta Township facility.
