OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — WWMT reported Wednesday that one therapy dog is dead after a house fire that occurred in Oshtemo Township.
According to reports, the fire began around 9:18 a.m. on Tuesday in the 10000 Block of West J. Avenue. Firefighters observed a home on fire, along with its attached garage.
Police say a trained therapy dog had perished in the blaze.
Another dog, which was not a therapy dog, had already escaped the building and was in the yard. That dog was not harmed.
The home suffered serious damages, including a caved in roof. The cause is under investigation, but is not thought to be suspicious.
No other injuries occurred in this case.
