BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A 55-year-old Battle Creek man is facing charges related to an aggravated assault that happened at a hotel over the weekend.
A 27-year-old victim told police he was assaulted multiple times with a gun in a room at the Red Roof in on Beckley Rd. just before midnight. Both the victim and the suspect said they had lived together and apparently have a history of violence with each other.
The suspect told police he went to the motel for a party, and accused the victim of taking his crutch and hitting him with it before the alleged assault with the gun. The suspect said he doesn’t even carry a gun, but did have a B.B. gun.
No names have been released.
