KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Schools will be the largest district in the state sticking with virtual learning for the rest of the school year, but there will be some in-person learning taking place.
KPS is opening six new learning hubs today, primarily for students that they have identified as needing extra help. Supt. Rita Raichoudhuri says staff at the hubs will soon be getting vaccinations and also says parents can drive their kids to the hubs, or opt for buses.
The students will receive tutoring and other supports to help them with their virtual learning schedules. The new Hubs are being set up at the two high schools, the 4 middle schools and Millwood and Woodward elementary schools.
The new hubs are in addition to the learning hubs set up around the community by Kydnet, that have been operating since October.
