ST. JOHNS, MI — A 21-year-old DeWitt Township man was killed in a shooting on Saturday night in St. Johns.
St. Johns Police say a gathering at a home in the 500 block of East State Street was interrupted by gunfire. The homeowner was allegedly showing off his firearms and aimed it at Brandon Chunko and pulled the trigger. The 21-year-old was struck by the bullet and gravely injured. EMS responded, but Chunko did not survive the shooting.
On Sunday 24-year-old Jesse Xavier Osga-Groves of St. Johns was charged with one count of homicide-manslaughter-death by weapon aimed with intent but without malice. He is currently being held at the Clinton County Jail with a $200,000 cash bond.
