LANSING, MI — A former U.S. Olympic women’s gymnastic coach from Grand Ledge is facing human trafficking and sexual assault charges. John Geddert is the former owner of Twistars gymnastics club in Dimondale, where convicted sex offender and MSU sports doctor Larry Nassar once treated gymnasts.
Geddert allegedly knew about Nassar’s abuse of young gymnasts, according to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. He faces over 20 counts of human trafficking and forced labor, multiple counts of sexual assault, racketeering and lying to a police officer.
The former gymnastics coach was arraigned on the charges this afternoon in Eaton County. The criminal complaint come after a three-year investigation and could land Geddert behind bars for life.
