MASON, MI — A pilot successfully landed a dual propeller plane on its belly at Jewett Airport in Mason over the weekend.
The landing gear did not deploy when the aircraft was landing shortly after noon on Saturday, according to local authorities. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified.
The 60-year-old pilot was not hurt, but the plane was damaged, police said. Photos from the crash scene showed considerable damage to the plane’s fuselage.
