MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Calhoun County man is sought by authorities, accused of physically assaulting his girlfriend several times at a motel over the weekend.
34-year-old Philip Young of Albion allegedly stomped and kicked the woman in the head over twenty times. Deputies were called to the Howard Motel in Marshall Township early Saturday morning and found the woman with several injuries. Sheriff’s Deputies said she had come to the lobby and asked the clerk to tell the man to leave their room. A short time later he came into the lobby and grabbed her.
On security video, investigators said she was seen being brutally assaulted before the man left. When deputies arrived the woman declined to talk, saying she was afraid of retaliation. Her boyfriend had taken their 2-year-old son when he left, but the child was later found unharmed at his grandmother’s home.
Deputies said they have obtained an arrest warrant for Young. The woman refused treatment for her injuries.
