KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Bronson Healthcare is introducing a new scheduling process for COVID-19 vaccinations.
With demand outweighing supply, Bronson is initially only encouraging adults 65 and over and health care workers to register at this time.
Bronson officials say the new process helps to ensure distribution happens for those at most risk for COVID-19 hospitalizations and death.
Those wishing to receive the vaccine at Bronson must register online in advance through their own personal Bronson MyChart account.
If individuals do not have a Bronson MyChart account, they can create one for free at mychart.bronsonhealth.com/
The scheduling prioritization is based on phases as outlined by the State of Michigan. Within those phases, Bronson will be sending out scheduling notification based on age, health risk level and location. If those numbers exceed the vaccines available, random selection may be implemented. Once registered, no further actions needs to be taken.
As of February 3, Bronson has administered 14,617 first doses and 6,069 second doses for COVID-19 vaccine to adults 65+ and Phase 1A healthcare workers, totaling 20,686 doses.
