K College professor awarded grant from NEA

KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo College English professor has received an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Oliver Baez Bendorf will receive $25,000 for a Creative Writing Fellowship from the NEA.

Baez Bendorf is one of 35 winners selected from over 1600 entries.

He says that he will use the fellowship money to fund a future collection of poems, and a possible trip to Germany.

He has written two poetry collections, and won an early career achievement award last year.
