BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Van Buren County man has been ordered to trial in Calhoun County on five counts of sexual assault after a woman testified she was a victim back in 2012.
The woman, who was 20 years old at the time, testified she was sexually assaulted on two different occasions by Logan Fields of Hartford. Once at her home in Marshall and the other time across the street at Ketchem Park.
The case is part of the Calhoun County Sexual Assault Kit investigation as the woman had reported the sexual assaults in June 2012 and a nurse collected evidence. However, Marshall police said at the time, she didn’t want to pursue charges and the case was not reopened until 2019.
If convicted on all charges, Fields could be sentenced up to life in prison.
