LANSING, MI — A winter weather advisory is en effect across mid-Michigan beginning late this afternoon until Friday at 4:00 p.m. Forecasts call for snow to begin falling in the Lansing area by 6 p.m. tonight.
Snow accumulations of 2-4 inches through tomorrow afternoon are possible, according to the National Weather Service. Conditions will turn blustery and colder by Friday morning which will likely result in difficult travel conditions for Friday morning’s commute to work.

TODAY…Partly sunny until midday, then snow showers in the
afternoon. Snow accumulation an inch or less. Highs in the mid 30s.
Southeast winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of
snow 90 percent.
TONIGHT…Blustery. Snow showers. Areas of blowing snow and fog.
Snow accumulation 2 to 4 inches. Lows 15 to 20. South winds 20 to
25 mph becoming southwest overnight. Gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of
snow 100 percent.
FRIDAY…Windy. Scattered snow showers until midday, then snow
showers likely in the afternoon. Patchy blowing snow through the
day. Little or no snow accumulation. Highs around 20. Southwest
winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts to around 35 mph. Chance of snow
70 percent.
