BOWLING GREEN, OH (WKZO AM/FM) – Behind a season-high 12 three-pointers the Western Michigan University men’s basketball team picked up its first road win of the season in a 76-70 victory over preseason Mid-American Conference favorite Bowling Green on Wednesday night.
Western Michigan nearly led wire-to-wire trailing for a total of 20 seconds against the Falcons. Along with the season-high 12 threes’ the Broncos had three score in double figures for the second straight game and seventh time this season.
Leading the way for the Broncos was the duo of sophomore B. Artis White and senior Greg Lee with 16 points each. Lee also earned his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds against the Falcons. The senior forward was 7-of-12 from the field while also recording four assists and one block in 31 minutes.
In women’s basketball, the trio of sophomore Sydney Shafer, redshirt senior Reilly Jacobson and redshirt freshman Taylor Williams combined to score 58 points as the Western Michigan women’s basketball fell short at Miami 73-64 on Wednesday night inside Millett Hall.
