EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University officials say a “rapid increase” in COVID-19 cases is leading them to restrict campus activity for the next two weeks. It’s asking students living on campus in dorms to stay in their residence hall rooms if possible.
Called “enhanced physical distancing,” students are asked to not hang out with anyone except for going to class or medical appointments. Dining halls are takeout only for the time being.
Officials say the failure by some people to follow health guidelines forced their hand.
