KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Health Providers nationwide plan to accelerate COVID-19 inoculations as increasing vaccine deliveries begin this week. Kalamazoo County Health officials plan to administer at least 3,000 doses this week.
They say when your appointment comes up, be prepared. Director Jim Rutherford says bring an I.D., show up a few minutes early to take care of the paperwork, and wear short sleeves. You should also plan to spend 30 to 40 minutes at the site. The shot comes first, then there is an observation period, just to make sure there are not any adverse reactions. He says after administering thousands of shots they have only had a couple of minor reactions.
Bronson Health officials say all their appointments for seniors have been booked. The Health Department says they have about half of Kalamazoo County’s 65 and older population on their waiting list, which remains open.
