CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Republicans are the latest to vote in favor of censuring Congressman Fred Upton.
This comes after Allegan County Republicans passed a similar vote last week.
During a special meeting on January 28, Cass County Republicans voted to censure and condemn Upton for voting in favor of the impeachment of former President Donald Trump.
“We believe Congressman Upton’s vote is a betrayal of his oath of office and core values of the Cass County Republican Party,” officials said in a released statement. “We believe this vote ignored the voice of the voters of Cass County and was against our interest.”
Officials also said that the Issues Committee is instructed to investigate and make recommendations for any further action.
