KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Employees at a downtown Kalamazoo restaurant had to be evacuated after a fire in the kitchen got out of control Thursday afternoon.
At around 2:45 p.m., firefighters responded to the 600 Kitchen and Bar on East Michigan Avenue for reports of a structure fire. Employees at the business had tried to put the fire out with the equipment they had, but were not able to get it under control and had to exit the building. The fire crews were able to get it put out quickly.
There is no report on the extent of damage at the restaurant or what caused the fire to begin with. Investigations are ongoing.
