KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A fire at a residence in Kalamazoo Wednesday afternoon is under investigation.
At around 5:45 p.m., fire crews responded to the 2600 block of Alta Vista Avenue and saw heavy fire and smoke coming from an attached garage at the home. The blaze was under control within 15 minutes and investigators remained on scene for about two hours.
There’s no word if the fire caused damage inside the home. One of the people who lived there told WWMT they heard a loud popping sound in the garage before the fire. The others were not home at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported and the cause is still being determined. Investigators have not reported the fire as suspicious, but are asking anyone who may have information to give them a call.
