CENTREVILLE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman was injured Monday evening after her vehicle rear-ended a farm implement that was being hauled by a tractor.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark A. Lillywhite says Deputies responded to an area near the intersection of M-66 and Marvin Rd east of Centreville at around 6:30 p.m… A 53-year-old female from Kalamazoo had been driving northbound on M-66 when she came up behind the farm vehicle and struck it. She was transported to a Kalamazoo hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor, a 26-year-old man from Centreville, was not injured.
The crash is currently under investigation, but it is believed that alcohol and drugs may be a contributing factor. Authorities also believe the woman was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. Her name has not been released.
Life Care Ambulance and the Centreville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
