KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A structure fire that took place Sunday is currently under investigation, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).
Around 10:19 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Clay for a report of a house fire. When Public Safety Officers arrived, smoke and flames were observed coming from the rear of the home.
Public Safety Officers entered the residence and located the fire at the rear of the house on the first floor. They were able to bring the fire under control within 25 minutes and were on scene for over an hour.
The occupants were not home at the time of the incident, and there were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
