OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County authorities responded to an attempted armed robbery which led to gunshots being fired outside an apartment in Oshtemo Township Thursday night. It happened at around 9:30 p.m. at 5800 Jefferson Commons Circle.
The alleged victim says he was approached in the parking lot by a suspect who demanded money and threatened him with a handgun. The victim attempted to disarm the suspect and then ran away. A shot was fired at the victim but he was not struck by the bullet. The suspect, described as a black male in his early 20s wearing a blue sweatshirt and a blue neck-style facemask, took off in a vehicle driven by another male.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has further information is asked to call the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
