OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Friday morning crash in Kalamazoo County involving two vehicles has left one person dead. WWMT reports the accident happened at M-43 and Second Street in Oshtemo Township at around 6:30 a.m..
The area was closed to traffic during much of the morning commute while officials conducted an investigation into what happened. They say a Toyota Camry and a Chevy Express Van struck each other. The driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office. The other driver was treated and released.
Investigators believe the Camry was traveling southbound on Second Street. The vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of M-43 and went into the path of the van. The name of the deceased driver has not been released at this time.
