KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -The City of Kalamazoo has issued a temporary boil water advisory for Hawley Street.
The advisory is due to a water valve repair in that area. Water customers should use bottled water for drinking, or boil water for at least two minutes before consuming it.
No extra measures are needed for hygiene purposes, according to the city.
WWMT reported that the following areas are affected:
- Hawley Street – From West North Street (southern boundary) north to the dead end of Hawley Street (northern boundary), both sides of street. Does NOT include the southwest corner of Hawley Street and Conant Street, the northwest corner of Hawley Street and Cadillac Street, and the northeast corner of Hawley Street and West North Street.
- Mason Street – From Douglas Avenue (western boundary) east to the dead end of Mason Street (eastern boundary), both sides of street. Does NOT include the northeast corner of Mason Street and Douglas Avenue.
- Conant Street (Section 1) – From Hawley Street (eastern boundary) approximately 150’ west (western boundary), north side of street.
- Conant Street (Section 2) – From Hawley Street (western boundary) approximately 175’ east (eastern boundary), north side of street.
- Douglas Avenue – Only the southeast corner of Douglas Avenue and Mason Street.
- Stuart Avenue – Only the southwest corner of Stuart Avenue and Conant Street.
- West North Street – Only the northeast corner of West North Street and Hawley Street.
According to the report, the advisory is expected to be lifted by January 2.
