LANSING, MI — Despite Judge Rosemarie Aquilina’s “wholly inappropriate” comments during the sentencing of former Michigan State University sports doctor Larry Nassar, he will not be resentenced. The state appeals court issued a 2-1 decision on Tuesday that her remarks were out of bounds but did not violate Nassar’s constitutional rights.
Aquilina sentenced Nassar to at least 40 years in prison for assaulting over 150 women and girls seeking his care. He is currently serving time in federal prison for child pornography.
