KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A proposal to help struggling downtown restaurants by allowing patrons to take alcoholic beverages into Bronson Park is on tonight’s Kalamazoo City Commission agenda, but it may come too late.
Commissioner Chris Praedel has suggested they include the park in their downtown “Social District” to take advantage of the holiday decorations.
Tonight the Commission will consider changing park rules, to allow drinks.
The amendment would not take effect for 14 days, which would be past New Years Eve. It would take a two thirds vote of City Commissioners to give it immediate effect.
