LANSING, MI — Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Friday announced her decision to extend COVID-19 restrictions that ban indoor dining in the state but will allow theaters, casinos and bowling alleys to reopen.
Among her decisions announced today: High schools can resume in-person learning on Monday December 21. Bowling alleys and theaters will be allowed to reopen in time for Christmas so long as customers wear masks and socially distance when possible. However, no food service or concessions stand service will be allowed in those establishments.
The emergency orders from state health officials were set to expire on Sunday December 20. The current restrictions, including the ban on indoor dining, will remain in place through January 15.
